Job Title:                              Floating Support Worker

 

Responsible to:                  General Manager

 

Reporting to:                       Floating/Housing Support Coordinator

 

This post is to support both male and female clients with various levels of needs with mental health related difficulties.

Drivers essential and must be willing to use their own car which should be insured with business coverage

The purpose of the Floating Support Worker posts is to support and encourage social activities and independence.  The role will ensure individuals keep a level of structure within their day.  You will provide positive and welcoming support and maintain their mental health wellbeing

You should be friendly and enjoy socialising on a one-to-one basis, flexible and willing to work longer or shorter hours at short notice.  Be experienced in Mental Health and in supporting simple life skills to aid the clients to be able to fit into the community.  You will need to have a mature and responsible approach and be a positive role model.

 Some experience in Housing Management would be an advantage.

The position is subject to an enhanced and satisfactory DBS check.

The post is subject on a Bank Hour Contract.

Provides skilled assessments i.e. workable Support Plans

Able to offer skilled coaching / mentoring interventions

Excellent range of communication skills

Excellent listening and questioning skills

Able to challenge supportively

Carrying out Support Plans assessments, working with each service user to identify their own recovery goals.

Work with the service user and their Care Team to carry out a risk assessment and appropriate reviews in line with New Horizons (Teesside) policy and procedure
